THE PATIENT JOURNEY
Your Dental Implant Treatment, Step by Step
Understanding what happens at each stage can help you feel more comfortable about treatment. From your first assessment to caring for your new teeth, we explain what to expect and guide you through the process.
Every patient’s journey is different. Your personalised treatment plan will set out the stages, expected timings and costs before treatment begins.
01 - ASSESSMENT & PLANNING
Understanding Your Needs & Exploring Your Options
Your first appointment is an opportunity to discuss your concerns, ask questions and tell us what you would like to achieve.
We review your dental and medical history, examine your mouth and take any necessary X-rays or scans. This helps us assess whether implants are suitable and explain your treatment options, including alternatives.
You will receive a written treatment plan outlining the proposed care, timings and costs, with time to consider your options before deciding to proceed.
02 - IMPLANT PLACEMENT & HEALING
Building the Foundation for Your New Teeth
Your implant is carefully placed into the jawbone to replace the missing tooth root. We will explain how the procedure will be carried out and discuss how we can help you feel comfortable throughout your appointment.
The surrounding bone then gradually bonds with the implant. This often takes around 8–12 weeks, although healing times vary and additional treatment may extend the process.
You will receive personalised aftercare instructions and advice about what to expect during recovery.
Will I have a gap during treatment?
Temporary replacement teeth are often possible while your implant heals. Your clinician will explain which options are suitable for you.
03 - CREATING YOUR NEW TEETH
Carefully Crafted for Your Smile
Once your implant is ready, we take digital scans or impressions to create your final replacement teeth.
Our clinical team works with the on-site dental laboratory to design your crown or bridge, considering its appearance, fit and how your teeth bite together.
This stage may involve several appointments. When your new teeth are fitted, we check their comfort and function and show you how to keep them clean.
04 - FOLLOW-UP & AFTERCARE
Looking After Your Smile for the Future
We review you after fitting to check how your new teeth are settling and answer any questions.
Daily cleaning and regular professional reviews help maintain the health of your implants and the surrounding gums. We will recommend an ongoing care routine suited to you.

Understanding The Treatment Timeline
Your journey depends on your individual needs. Some patients need preparatory treatment, such as extractions or bone grafting, while others may be suitable for temporary teeth on the day of implant placement.
Same-day temporary teeth do not mean treatment is complete: healing and further appointments are still needed. We will explain your expected timeline during planning.
