What Is Dental Sedation?
A Little Extra Help to Feel at Ease
Dental sedation is a technique used to help patients feel calm and relaxed during dental procedures.
At The Implant Centre, we offer intravenous (IV) sedation, which involves administering medication through a small cannula, helping reduce anxiety and making treatment feel more comfortable.
Unlike general anaesthesia, IV sedation doesn’t normally make you completely unconscious. You’ll usually remain responsive, but feel deeply relaxed and less concerned about the treatment taking place.
Many patients also remember very little about their procedure afterwards.
How Can IV Sedation Help?
Reduces feelings of anxiety and nervousness
Helps you remain calm and relaxed during treatment
Makes longer procedures easier to manage
Often leaves you with little memory of the procedure
Allows treatment while you’re comfortable and reassured
