The laboratory – a critical link in the chain
Similarly the technicians have to trust the quality of the work provided to allow their crafting to take place.
We have been working with Andrew Evans at Implant Restorations Ltd (IRL) and his expert team of technicians for the last four years and the businesses have grown together, developing techniques allowing for higher precision, more rapid completion and fewer complications.
The communication between our centre and the laboratory is of paramount importance – we meet most days to discuss complex cases and find solutions.
Implant Restorations Ltd and The Implant Centre use the latest materials to ensure our patients are entirely satisfied with the outcome.
The laboratory work with relation to implant dentistry is unique in the fact that nature is being duplicated by man made structures.
The complexity of this and how this is managed is not something that can be learnt without exploring biological principles. Having said this, simply copying nature also does not work – therefore we use a complex implant crown and abutment form, that we have developed over several years.
IRL is unique in that it only deals with implant restoration (as the name suggests!) allowing them to concentrate on advancing specific techniques and stand at the forefront of dental technology.
The hardest people to please are the dentists restoring the implants. IRL is the laboratory we advise our referring dentists to use for the implants placed at the centre and restored at the patient’s own practice.
This keeps the standards high and eradicates the problems that may occur with the use of multiple labs. It reassures patients to hear that the same people are creating their crowns, wherever they are restored.
In our new high tech world, some of the greatest advances in science have been made in the field of dentistry. One of the most exciting developments in dental technology is the advancement of digital dentistry.
Andrew Evans at IRL explains,
“We embrace the newest and most up to date techniques to produce the finest custom made dental appliances for our clients, and most importantly their patients. We use the most state of the art model scanning technology in the world. The scanner will scan a solid model and transfer analogue information to digital, so as never before we can use CAD CAM to design a large variety of intra oral appliances (crowns and bridges on implants).”

I would like to say that right from the start of my treatment I had nothing but praise for you. The consultation where you explained in great detail what you were going to do made me feel very relaxed and at ease with the procedure.
Mrs M. B
Dental implants are like having your own teeth back again.
Mrs L. P
I feel confident now, cosmetically and when eating, I do not have to worry anymore about my crown falling out when eating out, on holiday, at work or any other embarrassing time.
