Implant Treatments

The Ultimate Form of Tooth Replacement

Providing an outstanding alternative to uncomfortable dentures or damaging bridges, implants offer a simple, secure and permanent replacement for any missing teeth. Indistinguishable from natural teeth, implants work by replacing the root of a missing tooth with a titanium post, integrated in the  bone of the jaw, upon which new crowns and bridgework can be carefully crafted.

Implants are a truly long-lasting solution, providing you with a completely natural feel, restored functionality and renewed confidence in your teeth and smile.

Treatment Process

  • This is the most important stage of treatment. We want you and your dentist (if you have one) to be fully involved in the decision making process.

We will compile as much information as possible, by taking x-rays, digital intra-oral scans and CT scans as required, to ensure the best possible treatment and outcome.

  • The procedure itself is remarkably straightforward. The placement of a small titanium post permanently replaces the missing tooth root; you will not be toothless at any stage (if removal is required) while we allow the implant to heal over 8 - 12 weeks.

We offer the latest techniques in digital guided surgery, immediate implants and immediate teeth, and of course full mouth rehabilitation.

  • A bespoke, custom-made implant crown is then carefully crafted to look and feel like your own healthy natural tooth. Using the latest digital scanning technologies both in the clinic and the dedicated on-site dental implant laboratory, we are able to embrace the digital age, taking implant dentistry to the highest standard available today.

Designed to be simple to clean, and easy to look after, the beautiful implant teeth we fit demonstrate the attention to detail that goes into everything we do.

  • Unlike many other implant clinics, whose care ends as soon as the implant treatment is completed, here at The Implant Centre we want you to enjoy your new implants for the rest of your life.

To help make this happen, we encourage all our patients to return for regular check ups to ensure that their implants remain perfect.

We also offer a unique aftercare membership package following treatment.

Full Arch & Full Mouth Dental Implants

Walk away the same day smiling with confidence

Want to say goodbye to failing teeth and dentures? Get the smile and confidence you deserve and walk away the same day with a new set of implant teeth, restoring function to your mouth.

One of the most life-changing aspects of treatment with dental implants is the ability to replace all of the teeth in either one or both jaws with implants. These full-arch implant bridges are securely attached to the underlying implants, so they don’t move around or come out like a denture does. Fixed and firm, they will allow you to eat, smile and laugh with absolute confidence once again.

To be able to provide such complex treatment requires an experienced team of clinicians and technicians to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of these amazing new teeth.

Not one, but three of the Implant Centre Team are members of a select group of full-arch implant clinicians, the Accredited Oral Reconstruction Group, whose sole purpose is to offer guidance to the dental profession about this specialised type of treatment. They also train the next generation of full-arch implant dentists. New materials, techniques and technologies are regularly discussed by this group, which includes the very best and most experienced full-arch implant dentists in the UK.

If you choose to have your full-arch dental implant treatment here at The Implant Centre, you can be assured of receiving the very best and most contemporary full-arch dental treatment available.

Instant Implants & Teeth

Less surgery, less time, and no need for a gap or denture.

In many instances it is possible to remove a tooth and place an implant immediately into the extraction socket (an ‘instant implant’). This is often the case near the front of the mouth, and the procedure can be applied to a single tooth or multiple teeth being replaced all at once.

It is often also possible to make a temporary crown at the time of the extraction and implant placement, which is then attached immediately onto the implant (an ‘instant tooth’).

This means that a patient may come in with a failing tooth, have it removed and an implant immediately placed into the socket, and have a temporary crown fitted immediately onto the implant, all in the same day.

Patients love the speed and simplicity of treatment and the fact that they need never wear a denture.

Although it may not be possible for every case, you will be told at your implant assessment whether this rapid form of treatment is an option for you.

Multiple Teeth

Dislike wearing a denture or have a failing bridge?

Unable to chew properly and eat what you want with confidence?

Not enough teeth to support a bridge?

Do not want your teeth to be damaged by a bridge?

Implants are an ideal long-term solution that look, feel and function just like natural teeth. They do not damage adjacent healthy teeth, are fixed in place and there is no need to remove them to clean them.

If you are missing a number of adjacent teeth, they may either be replaced with individual implants (one for each missing tooth), or by joining two or more implants together. This latter option can make implant treatment more affordable when patients are missing many teeth.

The importance of replacing missing back teeth (your molar teeth) cannot be over-emphasised, as these are the large multi-rooted teeth that are designed to do the main work of chewing your food. They are your grinding and crunching teeth – the power-houses of your bite.

When molar teeth have been lost, all of this chewing workload gets transferred to the single-rooted teeth at the front of your mouth (your food has to be chewed by something!). These front teeth are simply not designed to grind and crunch food in the way your molar teeth are, and these excess stresses on your front teeth will inevitably cause damage in the long term.

Single Tooth

Replacing a missing or failing tooth with a single-tooth implant is a much more effective solution than other options, such as a bridge or denture.

In most cases, the treatment is very quick (usually taking less time in the chair than a crown or root treatment), is virtually pain-free, and the recovery is normally simple and straightforward. Most patients report less discomfort after an implant is placed than following an extraction by their dentist.

You do not have to be left with a visible gap during any stage of your treatment, and we will discuss your options for filling these gaps carefully with you at your assessment.

The final outcome will be a replacement tooth that looks, feels and functions like one of your own teeth. You simply have to clean it using standard tooth-brushing and flossing techniques.

There is no reason why a successful, well-maintained implant should not last a lifetime. The titanium structure and design of the implants we use are especially strong in order to withstand the forces of chewing

In contrast, a conventional dental bridge would be attached to the teeth either side of the gap. This means that your dentist would have to cut down the teeth in order to make room for the bridge, and the load on these adjacent teeth is increased. The lifespan of a bridge is much shorter than an implant, and when a bridge fails, one or both of the supporting teeth also usually fail, leading to an ever-widening gap.

Similarly, a denture is rarely an ideal replacement for missing teeth. Dentures are often uncomfortable, can also damage the adjacent teeth and gums, and will usually become loose over time as your gums continue to shrink beneath them. In addition, dentures need to be removed at night time.

It is important to replace missing or failing teeth, as with fewer teeth on which to chew, the stresses on the remaining teeth increases and reduces their lifespan. Unopposed teeth can change position and interfere with the way you bite and chew, causing further damage in the future.

“knowing that I don’t need to worry about my teeth anymore is just amazing.”

Implant-Retained Dentures

Are your remaining teeth unable to support a denture or bridge?

Do you have a loose, uncomfortable, or poorly fitting denture?

Implant retained dentures can help.

For a cost-effective way of replacing many missing teeth, dentures can be held securely in place with implants, providing a great improvement from traditional removable dentures.

  • No need for denture adhesives, pastes, sticky gum or powders.

  • Implants help to maintain your facial structures by preserving the remaining bone in your jaws.

  • Minimises wrinkles around the mouth by restoring lost lip support.

  • Markedly improves your ability to chew – you can eat whatever you want and enjoy your food again.

  • Secure and comfortable – no more embarrassing moments caused by loose dentures!

A lower denture may only need two conventional implants to give a completely life-changing transformation to your ability to chew foods, and smile with confidence. This requires very minimal surgery, and in many cases your current denture can be attached to these immediately. It is amazing to see the transformation we can produce in just ninety minutes of treatment, and only fifteen to twenty minutes of this is actual surgery!
