The Art of Dental Confidence

A 15 year old girl who had dental implants to replace her two front teeth

"They say that money can’t buy you happiness but the feeling that I had when I first saw my brand new perfect implants were that of complete and utter happiness. I was so speechless and everyone at the implant centre just had huge grins on their faces including me!"

Teeth don’t really seem like the most important thing in the world, all other injuries like breaking a leg or having a transplant seem so much worse. But after my accident a few years ago, which left me with two hideous replacements to what were my beautiful teeth, I was heartbroken. As a young girl of 15, school and fitting in with everyone around me seemed impossible after the accident. I had lost my confidence and as a result became extremely shy and I felt trapped. I put up with a number of different replacements that were just useless and I felt as though it would always be a problem for me and at such a young age it really felt as if I would never be the same Phoebe again. I had got into university and was due to start in a few months and my parents realised that a drastic change in my situation needed to be made.

So my dentist referred me to the implant centre, from the minute I walked into the waiting room the atmosphere was calming and the people we spoke to were matter of fact about what happened, what needed to be done and what the solution was. This was helpful as me and my parents didn’t really know all the technical terminology, but it didn’t seem to matter as they came across so professional and knowledgeable about my unique and individual situation. So the treatment started, it was painful and anyone thinking that anaesthetic is magical and that you won’t feel a thing is quite deluded, but the thing that always got me through was the end result, just think of it as a means to an end. In the surgery all the staff were always so kind and considerate and we had a lot of laughs and this made the horrid procedures more endurable.

As the financial costs were quite large for my family, it was rather challenging, but luckily we all pulled together and my grand parents were extremely kind. But for me and my family it was as though we had all been through my accident together and it had really affected us all. Therefore the prospect of me having my beautiful new teeth was incentive enough. They say that money can’t buy you happiness but the feeling that I had when I first saw my brand new perfect implants were that of complete and utter happiness. I was so speechless and everyone at the implant centre just had huge grins on their faces including me! As they had also been through what I had every time I went for an operation and because of my age everyone knew how important this was for me and for the centre itself.

I understand that many of you who read this will be older than me so your circumstances will be different, as with every case, but the end feeling must surely always be the same. There may be times when you may just want to give it up and think of having something different that’s less painful or less expensive but from my experience it’s just not worth it.

It has made the most amazing difference to my life and I just don’t know how to thank everyone at the implant centre enough you have made me so very happy. It has been such a hard few years, but you have given me a light at the end of, what seemed like a never ending tunnel so thank you. Your work is so amazingly clever and intricate and it doesn’t cease to amaze me and my family of all the different skills techniques and talent to get the end result, you are all extremely clever people!

I hope I have been able to put across my experience in a way you will all understand and that the affect it has had will stay with me for the rest of my life, the year that has passed since I had my first appointment at the Implant centre has been a long one but so worthwhile. As I am now 19 these last 4 years have all dissipated after the one year of treatment and I would without hesitation recommend it to anyone that asked.

What our patients say...

I would like to say that right from the start of my treatment I had nothing but praise for you. The consultation where you explained in great detail what you were going to do made me feel very relaxed and at ease with the procedure.

Mrs M. B

The implants I received look good, and, they have also improved my facial appearance as they have filled conspicuous gaps in a row of teeth. They fit comfortably in my mouth, and, act better than the dental plates I had before.

Mr E. M

From start to finish the treatment took five months and throughout that time The Implant Centre’s approach was always professional, but friendly at all levels.

Mr A.T. S
