The Art of Dental Confidence

Advanced computerized planning of the placement of implants and the fabrication of drilling guides that precisely control the drills when preparing the implant osteotomies...

Whilst 3D scanning helps greatly in determining the amount of bone available for the placement of dental implants, it does nothing to aid the surgery itself. For this one needs two further things...

Firstly you need the software that allows you to manipulate the CT images. This not only allows you to mark-in important structures, like the ID nerve and the sinuses, but you can also place “virtual dental implants” onto the scan. You can see at this stage on the computer screen, before you even start the actual surgery, whether dental implants can be placed in a position that is both safe and restorable.

Secondly, from this computerized “virtual planning”, drilling guides can be fabricated that precisely control the drills when preparing the implant osteotomies. Your dental implants end up exactly where they were planned to end up. What this means for your patients is safe and predictable implant treatment with no unpleasant surprises.
