We are very proud to be the first practice in the South East to have a Cone Beam CT scanner. This state of the art machine allows us to obtain high resolution, 3-dimensional images of our patients’ jaws, at a fraction of the radiation dose of a conventional hospital CT scan.

Our scanner can image both jaws in just 15 seconds and at a dose of less than 3 OPGs, compared with a hospital-based scanner dose of about 20 OPGs!

The ability to determine precisely how much bone is available for the placement of implants is an enormous help when planning cases and the level of safety and predictability that this degree of planning provides is also hugely reassuring for the patients involved.

But we’re not just restricted to imaging your patients for implants – impacted teeth are ideal for imaging with a 3D scanner; Chloe is a 13yr old girl with unerupted upper canines. It’s clear to see that these 3-dimensional images make her surgical and orthodontic planning far easier and much more accurate.
